On Thursday 5 November, the Selection Commission for the real estate operators tendering for the building of the River Eco-district in L’Ile-Saint-Denis met to make their selection.

They unanimously chose the Pichet-Legendre consortium for the real estate programmes in phases 2 and 3 of the River Eco-district which will host part of the Athletes’ Village during the Paris 2024 Games.

2,500 athletes and their teams will be lodged there during the Games. In 2025, once the Olympic and Paralympic competitions have ended, a lively neighbourhood with 320 family homes with shops, businesses, offices, a students’ residence, a hotel, a cultural venue and a nautical centre, will welcome new inhabitants.

In a neighbourhood with high environmental and social ambitions, Pichet-Legendre’s proposal focuses on bioclimatism, photovoltaics and bio-based materials with an emphasis on wood and offers very contemporary architectural designs.

On 28 November, the architectural projects for the River Eco-district were presented to the public for the first time in order to collect feedback.
