Last Tuesday 25 February, the second Meet-up “Building the Olympic Venues and Infrastructures Together”, organised by SOLIDEO took place at the Cité du Cinéma in Saint-Denis, in the heart of the future Athletes’ Village.
On the programme were speed-date style meetings between the representatives of the construction consortia and entrepreneurs and owners of very small-, small- and medium-sized businesses, as well as social and solidarity-based enterprises. The objective of these meetings was to include these organisations in the construction of the Olympic and Paralympic venues and infrastructures, of which 25% of the tenders are available to them.
During this meeting, 11 project managers and 400 very small-, small- and medium-sized businesses, and social and solidarity-based enterprises were present, including 101 from Seine-Saint-Denis. 1,000 meetings took place! The companies had the opportunity to present their solutions to the developers.
This meet-up reaffirmed SOLIDEO’s desire to ensure that the venues and infrastructures focus on sustainability and solidarity. Already 66% of the providers come from very small-, small- and medium-sized businesses, and social and solidarity-based enterprises. 41% of the amounts invested by SOLIDEO are with very small-, small- and medium-sized businesses, and social and solidarity-based enterprises, amounting to 12 million euros.
