The Colline d’Elancourt, located in Yvelines, is considered to be the highest point in Ile-de-France. Constructed artificially, this site was erected using the land surplus from the new town of St Quentin en Yvelines during the 1970s. Today it is open to the public and mostly used by walkers and sports people who train on the steep slopes of the site. Paris’ designation as the host city for the Olympic and Paralympic Games 2024 was a major opportunity for development. The Colline d’Elancourt will therefore host the mountain biking events of the 2024 Games. Afterwards, a more general development of the site will be launched, to encourage mountain biking and other leisure activities (heritage project).
